21 September 2021 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm

Access to appropriate phone and Internet services is crucial for engagement with modern society, particularly for people experiencing homelessness and other forms of financial disadvantage.

This webinar, delivered by Kate Adnams (Lawyer) and Kurt Maroske (Project Officer) from LawRight’s Community and Health Justice Partnerships Team, will address options to support vulnerable clients experiencing disputes with telecommunications providers, and will include:

  • the importance of access to a mobile phone and Internet connection for rough sleepers and other vulnerable people;
  • the protections offered under the Telecommunications Consumer Protection (TCP) Code regarding inappropriate contracting;
  • TCP Code obligations for dealing with represented customers; and
  • external resolution options when negotiations fail.
